above sea level. You can only access this peak by foot. The Agasthyakoodam Peak

to the local legends, this peak was once a home to the Saint Agasthya; because
of this, women aren’t allowed to enter the peak. The peak is a storehouse for many

bloom of the Neelakurinji. The Neelakurinji blooms only once in 12 years. You
would have to take prior permission from the Eravikulam National Park
Authorities before you go trekking.

species like the Malabar whistling thrush, Asian fairy blue birds and the bee-eaters.

of birds. Ponmudi acts as a base for several trekking and hiking trails. The
trekking trail starts from the Kallar River Bridge and it proceeds upstream
along the banks of the Kallar River and finally ends at the Meenmutty
Waterfalls. The entry fee has to be paid at the entry point. It even has
government accommodation for the tourists.
